Just switched over to opendns, and my top domain requests to www.belkin.com (top of my list). Since don't have any Belkin products ( that I am aware of), I am puzzled one what is requesting. I have the domain blacklisted, hoping I would see a problem on the device that was continually accessing www.belkin.com Any pointers or tips would be appreciated

Did you check that the correct IP address is registered at https://dashboard.opendns.com/settings/ ?  Else you may be collecting someone else's stats...

Thanks for the response..  yes, my IP address is registered correct and I see domains that I recognize as usage (some unique to my traffic)

Good.  Then you'll have to find out what device and application raises these DNS queries.  Some sniffer programs or router logging (if available) may help here.

Btw, blacklisting the domain can even increase the number of queries, because of the unsuccessful attempts.

If you have a Linksys router (or possibly another Linksys network-attached device) then this is the likely source of your phantom traffic to belkin.com.  Many people are unaware of this transaction, which took place in 2013:  http://www.cnet.com/news/belkin-completes-acquisition-of-linksys-from-cisco/
