OpenDNS blocking iOS Appstore downloads

Downloading apps from the AppStore seems to be blocked and Open DNS seems to be the blocker. I get the message "Unable to Download App" - Done/Retry. Works when I disconnect from Wifi and doanload via 4G. I have enabled the domain "iosapps.itunes.apple.com" on the Parental Controls site but still seems to be blocking this. Do I need to enable the P2P/File Sharing option on the settings (it is currentlly checked to block)?

OpenDNS doesn't block such domains by default.  It's your dashboard settings then.

Visit https://dashboard.opendns.com/stats/all/blockeddomains to see what Apple App Store related domains are being blocked and why, and unblock or whitelist them accordingly.  I do not know if any of the related domains are categorized under P2P/File Sharing, but rather not.  They tend to be under the Software/Technology category.

If you mean to say that you attempted to whitelist this domain, this is rather useless.  Apple generally use a lot of domains and subdomains, also from CDNs, so you're better off with whitelisting apple.com which covers this and all subdomains.  But only whitelist what is actually blocked by your settings.  Everything else is useless and just fills up your whitelist slots unnecessarily.

I am getting the same issue and seems to have begun when I updated to iOS 11. The app store was changed in iOS 11 and that could have changed URLs/IP address and/or port numbers. Any recommendations would be greatly appreciated. Checked the list for blocked sites and only thing blocked was a series of sub domains of btrll.com listed in the category Adware.

Update: adding apple.com to the whitelist fixes the issue, but it's funny how it wasn't an issue until the iOS 11 update.

Yes, as I said above already: "you're better off with whitelisting apple.com which covers this and all subdomains".

Apparently not.   There must have been subdomains of apple.com blocked as well.

No, not funny, but natural.  Corporations like Apple often change their DNS to achieve what they need to achieve.  And they take care about services like OpenDNS in no way when they plan for new features.  This is fast changing all the time, especially if they introduced a next major OS version, and you are to keep up with these changes.
