OpenDNS - Family Shield - Porn site not being blocked

I am trying to make sure that ALL porn sites are blocked with OpenDNS on my network.

I use a Google WiFi router setup and have followed the setup instructions on changing the DNS settings in the (there were no specific instructions for Google WiFi but I was able to figure it out using the iPhone app that I have).  I have also created a profile on the OpenDNS website adding my IP address and setting 'moderate' to my filtering.  I have run the test that is on the OpenDNS website and it states that my filtering is active.

I have tested a few porn sites and they are being blocked but www.pornhub.com isn't.  It is listed on the OpenDNS website as a blacklisted porn site....but all of my computers are still able to access it.

Can anyone help?

"the test that is on the OpenDNS website and it states that my filtering is active."

There is not such test which could confirm that the filtering is active.  So this is not true.

Let's start easy: what does http://welcome.opendns.com/ come back with?

Also copy & paste the complete plain text output of the following diagnostic commands to here:

nslookup -type=txt debug.opendns.com.
nslookup whoami.akamai.net.

That URL that you just sent me is the test that I was referring to.

It says:

Welcome to OpenDNS!

Your Internet is safer, faster, and smarter
because you’re using OpenDNS.

Thank you!

In response to your commands, here are the results (I assume you meant for me to run these commands at a Command Prompt).

C:\WINDOWS\system32>nslookup -type=txt debug.opendns.com.
Server: testwifi.here

I am not 100% certain what happened but the site is now blocked.

Maybe it took a while to index all of the sites?

I believe I am good now.  Thank you.

There is no indexing at all. But there are your local caches which present you with old stuff for a while if you don’t initially flush them.

It’s strange because I didn’t make any changes and it started blocking the sites that I tried 30 minutes prior. I had previously flushed everything immediately. Thanks for the help!

Apparently not flushed everything.
