I did the update on the DNS Server on my rb500 Netgear VPN router  and it's not filtering adult sites,

Can please someone let me know how to set up OpenDNS with my Netgear RB500 so it  will works 100%.

2 days on this..

In the Netgear RB500 DNS Server, I did this and still not working.

  1. Type the router's setup URL (http://www.routerlogin.nethttp://192.168.0.1 or http://192.168.1.1) into a web browser address bar.
http://192.168.1.1 is the default Netgear router IP address.
  2. Enter the password.
  3. Type in OpenDNS addresses, 208.67.222.222 and 208.67.220.220, in Primary DNS and Secondary DNS fields.
  4. Click Apply button.
  5. Wait for the settings to be updated.

I did add my IP to OpenDNS at well.

Thanks!

Read this: https://support.opendns.com/hc/en-us/community/posts/360040073691

A firmware upgrade may help.

If not, copy & paste the complete plain text output of the following diagnostic commands to here, so that I may see what the problem is.

nslookup -type=txt debug.opendns.com.
nslookup whoami.akamai.net.

I figured it out. If you go into the Netgear Insight You turn off auto automatically obtain DNS and put in OpenDNS. The majority issue was the Comcast which is Xfinity modem that had to be put in bridge mode and everything worked.
