request to resolver1.opendns.com timed-out

hello everyone I'm trying to block youtube and facebook and other pornographic website from my network, I configured everything and put the dns settings on my router but I'm unable to block any website I tried

nslookup -type=txt debug.opendns.com. but I'm receiving DNS request timed out

timeout was 2 seconds.

any help please
