Snapchat - Never Block

I am trying to allow my son to use the Snapchat app on our home network.

I have blocked several of the OpenDNS categories associated with Snapchat, so I have the domain "Snapchat.com" set to Never Block.

With that domain allowed, most of the features work on the app; however, it won't allow the app to refresh (with Snapchat's location-based filters, etc).

If I switch to using cell data, the app will refresh. But, when switching back to our home network, it no longer refreshes.

Does anybody know what additional domains I need to add to my Never Block list?

Apparently nobody knows and is willing to find it out for you.  You have to do it yourself.

Visit https://dashboard.opendns.com/stats/all/blockeddomains to see the domains being blocked by your settings to identify Snapchat related domains to unblock or whitelist them.

Please note that www.snapchat.com is an alias of the real name ghs.googlehosted.com which must not be blocked either by your settings.  There may be other aliases and CDN hostnames involved which do not contain "snapchat".

I added googleapis.com to allow list and that seemed to resolve my issue.

In case you have blocked some of the OpenDNS classifications that are linked with Snapchat and have the domain Snapchat.com that is set to Never Block. You will see that when the domain is allowable, most of the features on the application and working perfectly fine; though, it won't permit the application to refresh. This is one of the main problems that users often face.

The time we switch to utilizing cell data, the application starts working fine and refreshes. But, when users switch back to their home network, it stops refreshing, so the question arises here is that how can one refreshes Snapchat. It has been observed that this problem occurs when Snapchat application is encountering issues at the time of connecting to Snapchat servers.

So most probably there is a connection issue on your phone or Snapchat server. On her insistence I visited Cocospy.
In case Snapchat server is down, then there is nothing you can do. But if the issue is on your side, then you can resolve Snapchat not refreshing issue by following these steps.

As initial step you can check your network connection that whether it is connected to a strong Wi-Fi signals. Later just restart your phone to fix some of the errors that are occurring. As last step you can sign out from your Snapchat account and install it again. We hope that the issue with refreshing would probably be solved now.
