My isp is etisalat and I use d-link ADSL+2/N300 2750U which is installed with my isp's(etisalat) firmware.I setup my router with your dns servers and everything is working perfectly.I went to welcome.opendns.com.
this is what it says
it doesn't say that you're behind a proxy.
and filtering is also working fine.
I thought etisalat uses a transparent proxy in all their connections.
So why is it working?
BTW I went to internet options and unchecked automatically detect settings
also in older posts from customers from uae trying to set up your dns,had to face that proxy thingie in the welcome page.
So can someone shed some light on this unusual happening?

"So why is it working?"
Wow, that's the first time someone comes up to "complain" that it really works! ;-)
"I thought etisalat uses a transparent proxy in all their connections."
Are you sure that you are behind a proxy or caching proxy? (Etisalat may have run out of money and may have got rid of operating proxies...)

If there is a proxy, it may be ineffective in some way, especially if they NAT with the same IP address for DNS traffic and for web traffic.
DNS IP address: nslookup myip.opendns.com.
Web IP address: http://myip.dnsomatic.com/
