Please let me know what domain names I need to white list to use the spotify web player.  Thanks.  Please just list the domains for me.

Is the Spotify Web Player being blocked by your OpenDNS settings?  Why?  We cannot know what domains you have to whitelist, because we cannot know what domains are actually being blocked by your settings.  Whitelisting is only of use if a domain is actually blocked.

Check at https://dashboard.opendns.com/stats/all/blockeddomains what of the related domains are actually blocked.  Only if play.spotify.com or other subdomains from spotify.com or CDN domains like play.spotify.edgekey.net, cdn.ravenjs.com, *.global.ssl.fastly.net or *.spotilocal.com appear in this list, then add them to your "never block" list.

Btw, I cannot login to the Web Player through Facebook yet.  I have tried two different browsers with no success... :(
Is it possibly this problem why you think that it is blocked by OpenDNS?  If it is this problem, then whitelisting anything is of no use either, because it has nothing to do with OpenDNS.

If you answer my question you can assume I block every domain name except the ones you list for me.  That is, I need the complete list of domains to allow.  Based on your answer, that list is: play.spotify.edgekey.net, cdn.ravenjs.com, .global.ssl.fastly.net, and spotilocal.com

It looks like, even if I unblock all, spotify does not work.  So it must be the same problem I have playing Hulu.com.   Ubuntu no longer works with these web players.

"If you answer my question you can assume I block every domain name except the ones you list for me."

You still didn't get it.  Again, you only need to whitelist what is actually being blocked by OpenDNS.  As you didn't say what is actually blocked, I can "assume" nothing, and listing of domain names does not make sense at all.

"It looks like, even if I unblock all, spotify does not work."

Yep, that is what I said!  This problem is apparently not related to OpenDNS, so whitelisting is totally useless.  Their web player does not currently work, not even not with Ubuntu, but also with Windows and several browsers.

I think my original point was that I didn't want to hunt down what domains where being blocked,  I didn't really care if I whitelisted a name that wasn't blocked.  but now I see that OpenDNS only allows 25 domains on the whitelist.  And yes, unblocking has solved my problems with other sites like Google, it is just not the solution for this site.

I know this is another old post adding the response who is still stuck. Check the tags for website against the tags blocked in the open dns network

https://domain.opendns.com/spotify.com

For Spotify below are the tags,

  1. radio
  2. music
  3. podcast

Check in opendns if these are blocked
