So out of the blue I'm getting roughly 40,000 + requests for netgear.com in my log. The next highest thing is all normal. No idea why it started but I'm assuming it's slowing my network down. Help please!
RANK | DOMAIN | REQUESTS |
---|---|---|
1 | www.netgear.com | 41,694 |
2 | trello.com | 294 |
3 | *.l.google.com | 241 |

Something in your network raises DNS lookups to www.netgear.com again and again. Depending on what is being done with the DNS results, it may or may not affect your network speed. Do you have any Netgear devices or Netgear software running? Also a web browser extension from Netgear would count.

ROTBLITZ - thanks for your reply. There are no netgear devices or software running. All I have that is netgear is the router. Everything else is an iPad, iPhone or an iMac. I didn't see any web browser extensions on any of them. All of a sudden just like it began, it quit showing up though. It's a mystery!

Sure, your Netgear router counts as a Netgear device. It is most likely this. No idea why it phones home so often. You may want to ask Netgear support.
