Typosquatter Protection

Saw some things in the news about some particularly bad typo-squatting for ".om" top level domain with spam/virus/etc. implications.  Here's an article for reference:  http://www.macworld.com/article/3044533/security/mac-and-windows-users-threatened-by-rampant-om-domain-typosquatting.html

Wondered if OpenDNS would do anything to help protect with this, either automatically or by direct settings changes on my personal account?  I know OpenDNS does some other similar types of protections like blocking certain .cm top level domains.

Thanks,

"I know OpenDNS does some other similar types of protections like blocking certain .cm top level domains."

Sad to say, but this is not true anymore since June 2014.

Also, they never ever "blocked" the cm TLD.  They just looked if there's a com domain with the same name and redirected to this.  Because you have the right to also visit cm and om domains.  Nobody has the right to prevent you from doing so, except you yourself.  And a DNS service should never ever to something like that.  This is the reason why OpenDNS gave up doing it.

Yes, they did.  Following that what I said, if you want to individually have the om TLD blocked, simply do it instead of coming here.  You add om to your "always block" list, and you're done!  I.e. you decide it, and you do it yourself, as should be.  Free men in a free world.  It's your choice!  Don't complain about being free!
