Unresolvable domain marked as OK by OpenDNS

HI

I'm new to OpenDNS. I registered yesterday and configured my home router to use OpenDNS servers 7 hours ago. Now I see that my top domain with more than 500 requests is nat.emule.org.cn. Clicking on domain in report shows message "This domain resolved normally. You can block this domain or block similar domains". However all attempts to resolve this domain by other means result in "domain unresolvable" and similar errors. Clicking on "block this domain" in dashboard results in "Error blocking nat.emule.org.cn. undefined" ?!?

Am I missing some point in OpenDNS behavior and operation?

This domain is not in DNS, and NXDOMAIN is being returned, with all DNS services, not just with OpenDNS.  This is normal name resolution.  You don't need to block this domain.

There is a bug in blacklisting or whitelisting from the domain stats page.  You can do it from the normal settings page.

Ok. I see that the domain does not exist, but I can't understand why OpenDNS domain report says that "Domain resolved normally" ?

"I can't understand why OpenDNS domain report says that "Domain resolved normally" ?"

I say it again: NXDOMAIN is a normal domain name resolution result.  All other DNS services return this result too.  The same is valid also for SERVFAIL results.  Only domains being blocked by your dashboard settings are marked highlighted in red, i.e. results which have been forked by OpenDNS and where OpenDNS returned an own IP address instead of the normal result.

I don't understand what your concerns are.  The domain stats are not there to reflect results which are good or bad or as expected by you.  It just reflects domains where OpenDNS returned the "normal" result and domains where OpenDNS returned their own IP address in order to block them according to your dashboard settings.
