I have AT&T. Their modems do not allow the DNS codes to be changed. I understand that by purchasing a separate router such as a Linksys I can bypass that and still have Open DNS filtering on my network. What model of Linksys router should I look for? I am a tech dummy and need all the help I can get. Thanks so much for the help.

It may be hard to wait for someone who knows that. Better ask AT&T. They should know what routers and how can be used with their device.

Whatever Linksys suits you and at least allows WAN DNS to be configured. That would be most or all of them, AFAIK.

That's fine, you enable the DHCP server, and enter three of the OpenDNS resolver addresses below into the Static DNS fields:
208.67.222.222
208.67.220.220
208.67.222.220
208.67.220.222

If you want even more features like updates of your IP address information at OpenDNS, you may want to flash this router with alternative firmware like DD-WRT.
