Hello, I am new to this, I appesrs that that the filter is working but insead of a "This page is blocked by Open DNS", I get a, "Your connection is not priveate" message. Do I need to install OpenDNS certificates?

This is a normal browser warning which you always get if a domain is blocked by your settings and you try to access this domain via HTTPS. OpenDNS can only present you an OpenDNS certificate, but the browser expects a certificate from the (blocked) domain. So, this is all normal, and there's nothing you can do about except to unblock the domain.

What's the 2020 answer to this problem? I', in the same boat as Alexander--everything was working fine, now sites that I have not blocked and have accessed with no problem before get the message in Chrome on my MacbookPro.

That is the answer. You either accept this browser message (because the site would be blocked anyway) or you download and install the certificate.

What certificate? (Sorry, lawyer, not techie...)
And I disagree with this statement: "because the site would be blocked anyway"
The sites getting blocked the last week+ are sites I've had no problem accessing before with OpenDNS/Umbrella.

You just need to install the Cisco Umbrella Root CA into your computer certificate store. Super simple.
