Problem Description:
I have a customer, who is connecting JDSU BERT tester to the Client ports of 10x10G card at one location and gave physical loop on the other end client port and as a result we saw millions of pcs errors (pcs49RxErrBer & pcs49RxErrDec counts) incrementing on the client port in CTC (print screen attached)
- When we check the FEC/OTN performance, they are clean, even the tester is also through without any errors.
- We tested two scenarios to confirm whether these error counts are generated by the tester or not.
Scenario 1:
JDSU testerBalhash 10x10G client ports-1----->10x10G trunk port2------>Sayak-10x10G trunk port-2----->client port-1-->hard loop
Scenario 2:
In the similar scenario, when we connect routers on the client interfaces at both the locations on the 10x10G card client port. And we noticed that these errors stop incrementing and everything is clean (link is up/up at router interface).
Cisco router------>Node-A_ 10x10G client ports-110x10G trunk port2---------->Node-B_-10x10G trunk port-2client port-1-------->cisco routers
Now, customer is curious to know about these errors on pcs49RxErrBer & pcs49RxErrDec counts in CTC and why they are coming/incrementing when we connect the JDSU tester (JDSU BERT MSAM2 A3-1742587(20) v18.3).
Also, the client port of 10x10G is configured as TEN_GE not 8GFC and trunk port as OTU2.
Requesting you to please suggest any specific reason for this issue.
To me it looks like either the client ports are looking for particular pcs packets from the tester which it is not receiving and hence generating errors and when we connect the interface with Router, it is reading the desired information and hence now errors in CTC.
Appreciate your revert in advance.
