Hi
We're experiencing a problem on on a Cisco catalyst 3750 connected to a c6504 with a fiber DWDM link.
When the link goes down for any reason, i can reproduce the problem shutting down the Gigabit port on the 6504 for instance,
and it restores, the port on the catalyst 3750 stays down , and the only way to recover it is to issue a shut/no shut sequence on the gigabit port.
We've a 1000ZX-SFP module inserted in the port, no udld error or indication arises when port behaviours as described.
My idea is that we're hitting the bug described as CSCux28536, even if we are on different platform.
Any hints ?
Thanks
Regards
Antonello

What is the exact IOS version of the 3750?
Post the complete output to the command "sh interface status err" when this issue re-occurs.

Hi Leo
About the IOS version :
Cisco IOS Software, C3750 Software (C3750-IPBASE-M), Version 12.2(25)SEE2, RELEASE SOFTWARE (fc1)
The output you requested:
#sh interface status err-disabled
#
blank, the problem seems not to be related to udld issues.

That's a very, very ancient IOS. I, personally, wouldn't bother doing any troubleshooting any issues with an IOS that old. If there is a possibility of upgrading the IOS, try 12.2(55)SE10.
The command "sh interface status err" when the problem re-occurs and it doesn't mean it's UDLD-related. This command will pick up any ports that were put into error-disable as long the shut/no shut hasn't been invoked. Pretty handy to determine what's causing the port(s) to go into error-disable.
