db threshold on Xenpacks

Hi there

I am using ZR trancivers for 79Km fiber link.

I enabled DOM so I can get readings.

This link is used to carry IPTV multicast. though I cannot see any packet dropped, on interfaces or after extended pings my STB still register loosing packets.

an alternative link using same equipement provides excellent results.

what is the minimum power budget I can use as a baseline to identify fiber issues and why is this not reflected by extended pings ?

Some of XENPAKs shows that Transmit power can fluctuate up to 1.5dbm below or above average level. XENPAK tx power was equal to (-2.8) dBm, 'box' tx power - (-0.5) dBm.
