Hi,

I just need to know of GL-LH-SM can support distance over 550 m on multimode, i mean what will be the behavior

of the speed if the distance is over 550m, will it be 100MB instead of 1GB? if no is there any module

that can go over 550m for 100MB on multimode and 1GB for multimode?

Thanks in advance

If you exceed the 550m link length on the GLC-LH-SM, depending on the additional length, your link will experience higher bit errors or no link connection.

You didn't mention the type of multimode fiber you are using (OM1, OM2, etc).  It has been indicated that the latest OM4 multimode fiber using LH 1310 module may extend the 1GE link to 600m (see attachment).

If you need 100Mb, you might consider using a Fast Ethernet SFP (if it is compatible with your equipment).  The data sheet below outlines a link length up to 2km over multimode fiber.

Typically, the transceiver modules are line rate specific (100Mb or 1Gb).  I am not sure what application you are trying to meet requiring 100Mb and 1Gb using the same SFP module.

Hope this helps!
