How to check Tx power of a QSFP-40G-SR-BD or QSFP-40G-SR4 pluggable?

Hi!

We have some QSFP-40G-SR-BD or QSFP-40G-SR4 pluggable modules that installed in a 400G-XP card on a NCS 2006 shelf.

We already have unlocked service state of them but we can not show Tx power as below:

I plan to measure Tx optical power by OPM but I see no light (red light) in the Tx port as the same QSFP module that plugged in a Switch.

Please let me know to check Tx optical power via CTC or measure by OPM directly.

hello @duytoannguyen

U have 2 options:

1. via ctc:

-Service Activation: Ensure the service is fully configured and active; Tx power may only show once the service is up.

-Compatibility: Confirm the QSFP module is supported by the 400G-XP card.

-Software: Verify the NCS 2006 software is up to date.

2. via opm:

-Laser Status: Ensure the laser is enabled; it may stay off if the link is down or inactive.

-Link Status: Loop the fiber to activate the laser if needed.

-Port State: Ensure the port isn't administratively shut down.

And, If you're still not seeing any light, try the QSFP module in a different device, like a switch, to confirm it’s working.

**bleep**, it’s been a long time since I’ve seen CTC—good old times!
