Hi Guys,

I would like to do a connection from a dell server that has a Intel X520 DP 10Gb DA/SFP+ and will be connected to a 10G port on a cisco Nexus9000. I´ll use a MM fiber and according to intel need to use the SFP below:

Configuration Product Code
SR Optic         E10GSFPSR

question here is: does anyone know if this SFP is supported on this CISCO LAN SWITCH. or need to have a different one.

thanks

Iams85100,

I think what Intel is saying is that you have to use their recommended SFP for the actual NIC, not the switch. The card itself has two empty SFP+ ports that you have to fill in with SFP+ transceivers. And the recommendation most probably relates to what you populate these slots with, not what you plug on the Nexus side. The main thing you need to remember is that transceivers on both ends should use matching standards SX/LX-wise.

Hey all, just did that connection. from X520 SFP INTEL and the other side that is a CISCO LAN SWITCH I used cisco sfp-sr. it is working fine.
