Nexus forwarding...is it CEF?

Hi,

Can anyone confirm if Nexus use CEF forwarding? Could not find any Cisco document on this.

Hello Mohan

CEF is more IOS specific name. It is present on IOS devices.

Nexus uses it's forwarding mechanism which is similar to CEF.

NX-OS use not only best routes, but install all routes into the RIB from used routing protocols .

To Check the RIB you Can use "show routing" & for Checking the FIB, use

"show forwarding".
