Nexus7009 replace chassis

Hi all,

I'm going to replace Nexus7009 with new chassis, I've backup configuration current Nexus to RMA Nexus.

only VDC management can restore backup configuration but for about other VDC how to restore.

I just dont want to copy and plate configuration in each VDC.

Please advice.

Are you just replacing the Chassis? Or are you replacing all Supervisor line cards too?

If you just replacing the chassis, and re-using the old supervisors you dont need to worry about you config.

If you are replacing your supervisors, then you need to configure you VDC from the system first. i.e. copy past the system VDC, confirm you VDCs are created. Then copy paste each VDCs config back.

Its pretty painless.

Also please remember that for new chassis you also will need licenses.

You can transfer licenses from your old chassis to a new one using following link:
