2950 issue with 2924 ...looks like broadcast storm?

The old head switch and satellite switches off the head were 2924. Installing a new 2950 switch to become the new head switch and then trunking the 2924 off via dot1q to become user switches. When turning on the trunk ports all the 2924 start flashing very fast in sequence with each other like a broadcast storm but nothing shows in logs. Also when using a monitoring tool notice VLAN1 drops (users still work) and then VLAN1 will come back up.

Does anyone know of any issues like this or a bug between 2950 and 2924? The fast flashing green led on each 2924 will slow down and then again speed up in sequence with each other?
