I have recently received an 805. Following the documentation on password recovery I cannot use the boot command as follows. I assume that because the filename is an empty string there is nothing to boot???
Can someone tell how to progress from here.

Have you tried using 0x142 instead of 142 ?. Also if the flash is corrupt or missing you can use 0x141 instead.

Yes, I tried those options but to no avail. I thought the 0x141 might do the trick but it still behaves the same.
