Hi Folks,
Sorry, I am VERY new to the CISCO world. I have recently purchased a 806 Router to act as a firewall and router for my office network.
My cable modem issues DHCP. I would like to setup my router to recieve a DHCP address and have the router issue DHCP on my LAN. Of course I need NAT and DNS resolution.
My ISP is Earthlink and my cable modem is a Toshiba PCX1100U. My network is a 10/100 IP only network.
Can someone help me with configuring the router?
What do I need to be aware of?
Can I also setup VPN access?

Often times initial configuration issues are best addressed in an interactive session with one of our trained technical assistance engineers. While other forum users may be able to help, its often difficult to do so for this type of issue.
To utilize the resources at our Technical Assistance Center, please visit http://www.cisco.com/tac and to open a case with one of our TAC engineers, visit http://www.cisco.com/tac/caseopen
If anyone else in the forum has some advice, please reply to this thread.
Thank you for posting.

Hi,
Cisco 806 comes out with a web based configuration utility called Cisco Router Web Setup.
You can use it to setup the router. You can alsp configure VPN using the tool. You need not be aware of IOS commands to use this tool..
You can run this tool by connecting a PC via Ethernet to the LAN port of the 806, and then point your browser to the following
URL: http://10.10.10.1
For more info, please visit http://www.cisco.com/go/CRWS
