I want to update the IOS of a new router 1750 because it has an additional Ethernet card and the IOS inside the router doesn't provide it. I know that I must use the command copy tftp running-config and give the IP-address of the remote host and the address of the file in remote host and I have a cisco tftp server in the remote host which is open, but my router doesn't find it. Do I have to activate the tftp server in my host?

Tftp in remote host. Do you pc host or router host.

1. for PC ,bring up the tftp application and check the address its

using.

2. see if the router can reach this address.

3. check the file location of the image you want the router to get

4. is the file location the same as the tftp directory used for upload&download.

5.on the router "copy tftp flash" for IOS.

6. answer the questions e.g tftp ip address and file name" must use the exact file name on tftp server.

B. If the remote host is a router with the c1750 ios in flash.

1. go to config mode.

2. type in tftp-server flash:

3. verify that the c1750 can reach this remote router host

4. on the router copy tftp flash

5. answer all question raised.
