AP username / password not working in Cisco 867vae-w-a-k9

Hi!

I have a brand new Cisco 867vae-w-a-k9.

I programmed the basic functions up up via web interface no problems, but when clicking on the wireless section, there is no response.

So I factory rest and programmed up the router via IOS, again no problems.

But when connection to the embedded AP, the documented user/password (admin/admin) does not work. Yes, I have tried other popular passwords (cisco/cisco) etc, but none are accepted.

So either the documented user/password of admin/admin is incorrect (in which case can someone tell me what it is), OR the initial attempt to access the AP via the web interface has corrupted/changed it, despite the web page not displaying. I assume that the factory reset I did (clearing the nvram) may not have factory reset the embedded AP (in which case, does someone know how to clear the config on the embedded AP?)

Any help would be appreciated. Cheers

I've just worked out how to reset this odd wireless setup and thought I should share.

You want to delete the flash:ap860vae.conf file and reload the the unit.  This will regenerate the file with it's default and allow access with it's admin / admin credentials.

Yes you will lose all the AP configuration, but this seems to be the only choice.

I'm sure you are aware of how to access it, but in the nature of keeping everything in one place, you need to do the below to access it.
interface loopback-number

ip address ip-address subnet-mask

telnet loopback-ip-address 2002

Ctrl+^ and then x (to close session)

Enter (blank line to reconnect)

Disconnect 1 (to disconnect session)

Enjoy.

Maaan! You are the best. Thank you very much. It worked.
