Our network consists of 2 TIs for internet connectivity, a class B flat network, a firewall, and a Cat. 6506 switch w the MSFC. There are many outgoing ftp traffics to the internet that slow down other traffic. Any suggestion what to do to redesign this network, I don't intend to eliminate the ftp traffic. Thanks,
Jacky

Since typical egress policing or shaping is not supported on the 6500 LAN interfaces. You can try to police in the inbound vlan for outgoing traffic originate to a certain bandwidth. You have to remember ftp is TCP and hence you need to watch out for the burst size defintion, otherwise your FTP will not get good throughput.

Thank you for your reply. Can you include a related cisco link so I can read further and help me in my 6506 configuration. Thanks again.
