Hi Guys!

Very strange thing happening as I see. This bug is in state closed (!!!) So that simply meant that all unnecessary non-RPF traffic on my routers will remain, and I will have high load due to what? What about another IGMP - mroute related question? When router assumes that he must forward traffic to all(!!!) multicast enabled interfaces! That meant adding 5 Mbit/s as the source and having 10 interfaces you will have 5*10=50 Mbit//s (!!!!!!!) unnecessarry load!

CSCdr74908 + ip mroute bug which is not yet even answered by cisco+ 5 Mbits more traffic, which can be generated by trading software, and I will have 70% load!!!

Hi,

that bug is closed as there is no way of fixing in software. However, there is an identified workaround for Supervisor 1 and 1a with MSFC devices. Please refer to <http://www.cisco.com/warp/public/cc/pd/iosw/prodlit/ipst_an.htm>. Additionally the feature "single router mode" also addresses this problem - refer to <http://www.cisco.com/univercd/cc/td/doc/product/lan/cat6000/sw_7_2/confg_gd/redund.htm#xtocid29>

HTH - if you have any questions please email stevep@cisco.com
