I strongly suggest *against* building your own cross-over cable. I did it once and will never again! The DB-60 connctors are hard to come by, expensive, and no fun to solder! Also, the cisco serial ports are electrically fragile. Mess up your cable and you are liable to fry your serial port. You would be MUCH better off buying these cables (either from a reseller or on Ebay). If for some reason you cannot do so, the best alternative is to hook to CSU/DSU's together with a T1 cross over cable (1->4, 2->5).
