Can two interfaces within the same router have the same IP address?

I have two 3660's configured for HSRP. However, each has two FastEthernet interfaces, therefore I want to setup a multilink equivalent within each router containing both FE interfaces, so I have consequently four Ethernet interfaces on the same IP network, using only one virtual IP address, for greater resilience.

NOT POSSIBLE... an interface on a router reprsent one subnet.

You cannot overlap ip subnets on any tcp/ip device.

Some device do support overlapped subnets on the same device - e.g. 3Com routers can be set up this way.

Also, some layer 3 switches can "gang" ports together to build an Etherchannel like trunk, and have 1 address on the trunk.

You could configure each link in a separate subnet, and set the routers up to support equal cost multi path routing, using statics, OSPF or EIGRP.

However - a 3640 is not going to keep a single 100M port full, never mind 2....
