Sir,
My switch -- WS-C3548-XL-EN. IOS version is (C3500XL-C3H2S-M), Version 12.0(5.3)WC(1),
The switch works normal and suddenly it can't work. I found all ports on the switch had an error message in the logging file:
"FOUND an unknown transceiver on port xx"
When I power-reset the switch, it becomes normal. But sometime it happen again. Maybe need to power-reset several times to running normally.
I can't find the description of the msg. Could any one tell me about it? Is it a software problem or hardware problem?
Thank you very much!
Regards,
Sha

I couldn't find any bugs listed for that platform/ios version. I suspect it may have something to do with the fact that the 3548XL is a discontinued product. It was just recently discontinued so you should still be able to use your support contract at TAC. I would be running 12.0(5)WC5 first if you can. I couldn't even find 12.0(5.3)WC(1) on the download page so maybe there were problems.

We had a similar issue but only with 1000BaseT GBICs.
Is the IOS version you refer to Maintenance Interim Software?
This was our issue. We changed IOS to version 12.0(5)WC3b.
This fixed the problem.
