Cat4500 and TCAM rapid table lookup

We are intressted in cat4xxx series switches for our new network design. We already have 4 cat4006 series with RSM and multiple GB-RJ45 slots.

I've found in some documents that TCAM (rapid table lookup) is used in Cat2950, Cat3550, Cat4500 and Cat6500 series.

For as far as i know the 4500 supports the same modules as the 4000.

So my question is: is TCAM also supported on f.e. Cat4006 or is it something special in the chassis?

Those anyone know what the main (technical) deff re between the Cat4000 and Cat4500 (other the comm. diff.)

Thanx

The TCAM is a specialized piece of memory designed for rapid table lookups by the access control list (ACL) engine on the switches.
