All of sudden when I plug my server or even a laptop to my cisco 1811 router it just cycles and the network does not connect. Was working fine a few days ago. Thought it was the nic card on the server but it happen on laptop also. Is there a configuration issue on this router. Please Help.

We do not know enough yet to be able to determine whether there is a configuration issue on the router. I am not sure what you mean when you say that it cycles. Are you saying the router reboots? Or what is it?
Did anything happen or did you change anything on the router after used to work?
Can you be clear and explain to us how you are connecting the server and the laptop to the router? What kind of cable? Into what interface?
Do you have a copy of the configuration of the router that you could post?

If you connect the server or a laptop to the router is keeps saying identifying and then the Ethernet connection would say enabled then not connected and it would keep doing that. Hope that is more clear. I am not very knowledgeable in Cisco routers so I am hoping you can help me.

Thank you for the additional information. This suggests that it might be an issue with the cable that you are using for the connection. I suspect that you are using a normal (straight through) Ethernet cable. To connect a server or laptop directly to the 1811 you probably need a cross over Ethernet cable.

Even though they have been setup like that with the server connected to the 1811 for years without a problem? Like I said I am IT but not versed on Cisco Routers.

Also when I listen to the Cisco Router it sounds like a fan that is on put pause every couple of seconds.

Based on the very limited information provided I thought that an issue with the cable was a reasonable guess at the problem. If it has been running that way for years and if you have not changed the cable then it is likely not a problem with the cable and we need to look for some other issue.
Perhaps the router is in a loop of starting and rebooting and starting and rebooting. That could be consistent with what you observe about the Ethernet and about the fan. Do you (or someone) have access to the console port of the router. That is probably the best way to get information about what is going on with the router.
