BIG MESS UP !!!!!!!!!!!!!

Hello All;

OK, Just got in my "Cisco 501 PIX" Router today.

And was going through the wizard right there at the start, to set it up.

( Or was trying at least )

After setting up the "PIX" to use NAT with "Beginning & Ending"

IP Address Range ( Being that of what I received from my ISP, so

That my Servers would have there own Static IP's ( I was told that

was the way to do it )

I also set up the PIX to except 1 of the IP Address's, so that I could

Still talk to it. And the outside IP Address, to what it needed to be in order to send/receive internet information.

Anyway, once I finished doing the wizard, that was when I LOST communications with the PIX. Not even with the address range that I entered into the PIX. nothing will work.

I put the address back into my network card like it was before.

And nothing, will not communicate?

Can someone tell me how to fix my Mess-Up ?

(( I tried to unplug and then plug back in the PIX,

But of-course, that did not work , I am use to using a "Linksys Router" & It has a "Reset Button" on the front panel, for mess-ups like this.

Not use to this hardware at all..... Not yet anyway )

You need to connect to the PIX using a console cable which you should have received. Then using a terminal emulator such as hyperterminal connect to the PIX, you will then be able to log on to the box. If you created a user name and password you will need it to log on, or if not you will have to use the default password of pix.

To check which IP address you allowed to access the device issue "show run" or "show pdm/telnet/ssh"

Thank You "Paddy";

I have another gentleman that is assisting me at the moment, and he got me to do exactly what we just explained.

Thank You
