Hi,
You're most likely hitting bug CSCdx87646. http://www.cisco.com/cgi-bin/Support/Bugtool/onebug.pl?bugid=CSCdx87646
Release Notes
Under rare circumstances, the Catalyst 6000 Series Switches may experience
a red status light on the supervisor module due to a NVRAM checksum error.
Under this condition you will observe the following:
"show version" will show a checksum failure of some type
"show test 1" will show the NVRAM:F
This will not have any impact to an operational switch unless configuration
changes are made while the switch is in this condition.
** PLEASE NOTE **
If the switch is reset, it is possible that some configuration data may be
lost.
Before the switch is reset, please make sure that you have a current copy of
your configuration stored on another device. This can be accomplished by
issuing
"show configuration", then copying and pasting to a text file.
WORKAROUND:
A reset of the supervisor module will clear this condition. Please make sure
you have a current copy of the configuration before the switch is reset.
This fix was also ported to 6.4(1) software with CSCdz32620.
----------
Please be sure to save your config to a tftp server asap. During a maintenance window, reload the switch and that should fix the issue. Will also be a good idea to upgrade the code to one of the codes that has the fix for this bug.
Hope this helps.
regards
-Alok
