Hi all ,
Now i have been troubleshooting an issue where in my security team wherein they are unable to form a cluster with two checkpoint devices . ( internal interfaces E1 on both).
They have told me that the cluster protocol (CCP) uses multicast to form a cluster .
Both internal interfaces are connected to my core switches ( FEX) which are two Nexus 5Ks , which i think has some limitation regarding multicast transmissions ( Please correct me if i am wrong )
From the online support literarure , i have come to know that disabling IGMP snooping on the Cisco Nexus Core switch is a workaround .
My query is , is there any other preferred way of achieveing this ? If i disable IGMP snooping will it adversely affect any other areas of my network ?
Thanks in advance .

I prefer using IGMP snooping as it is intended, i. e. with an IGMP querier if there are no layer3 interfaces with PIM.
