Would be interested to hear from anyone who has installed or knows of CiscoWorks LAN/RWAN in a Sun Cluster, or, if you would recommend not attempting it, please respond.

Ciscoworks RWAN works in a Sun Cluster. But you need to be careful with the database. THe whole database should be on a single machine and even the ciscoworks software should be on a single Unix machine. Else it might lead to problems.

If I am understanding well if server a has ciscoworks and the database installed on it and it fails, everything will be shifted to server b and the users will continue to access the system using server b using the virtual ip.

Hello,

we are using Veritas Cluster Server and have defined a cluster resource CiscoWorks2000. I have wrote an online script to correct the entries in different config files. The files are described in http://www.cisco.com/warp/public/477/RME/sol_hostname.html. Unfortunately the web client must know on which host (http://:1741) CW2000 is running. I have heard that Cisco plans to deliver a cluster supported version of CW2000 - but until now no new information about that.

Best regards

Do you have any more experiences or information on this topic. I originally posted this question regarding clustering CiscoWorks, however we did not attempt it. But again, we have customers who want this. Can you recommend it as a viable option?
