%CLNS-3-BADPACKET: ISIS: LAN L1 hello, Duplicate system ID

I am receiving %CLNS-3-BADPACKET: ISIS: LAN L1 hello, Duplicate system ID

detected from (mac address) on each of my two Cisco 6000 series switches every minute. This will occur about 8 times in a row for 8 minutes total (once per minute) and then it will go away only to come back again a few hours later.

We have checked the system id in ISIS and it looks fine on each end. Any ideas? There is nothing within documentation referring to this error for us to begin to troubleshoot with.

The two switches are connected via Ethernet trunk 802.1q.

Hello,

can you post the NET statements you have configured ?

You might want to try and, if possible, reboot the devices in question, check if this gets rid of the error message.

Regards,

Georg
