Dear All,
May I know if there is any compatibility issue between GLC-SX-MM and WS-G5484 provided that I have the right patch cord. I want to make sure as I connect Cat3750 and Cat3550 using GE.
Thanks
Regards,
Raymond

No compatibility issues at all at the physical layer. 1000BASE-SX GBIC and 1000BASE-SX SFP are both 1000BASE-SX. GBIC uses SC connectors, SFP uses LC connectors. That's the only difference that matters besides what kind of slot they fit in. Both optical transceivers are intended for use with multimode fiber optic cable only.
No compatibility issues with the 1000BASE-T GBIC and 1000BASE-T SFP at the physical layer, either. They're both 1000BASE-T compliant. They both use the same connector, RJ-45, and Category 5 or better UTP cable. So connector mismatches aren't even an issue.

Hello,
I would like to confirm is there no straight/cross in 1000BaseT, right? So I can use the straight Cat6 cables to interconnect 3750 and 3550?
Thanks and Regards,
Raymond

There are some issues with straight/crossed in 1000BaseT. See the thread http://forum.cisco.com/eforum/servlet/NetProf?page=netprof&CommCmd=MB%3Fcmd%3Ddisplay_location%26location%3D.1dd64a3e
