configuration question with 4503 and 2950's

Not sure if anyone can help but I'll try anything right now. Not my decision to buy this config but in theory this should work. We have a 4503 with a 48 port 10/100/1000 and sup module. We have 4 2950's in our wiring closets. Between the 4503 and closets are 6 pair of sc multimode fiber. Because the 2950's are th EI with the 2 10/100/1000 uplinks and not fiber, we bought netgear gc102 fiber to ethernet converters.

So here is the config for each 2950: 4503 connected to gc102 with straight thru cat 5e, fiber to fiber patch to closet, in closet is basucally the same, from fiber patch to gc102 with a fiber cable, then from the ethernet uplink on gc102 to the uplink on the 2950.

Heres the problem, the fiber is linking no problem but the ethernet links are intermitent. Get one up then if you reset it, it will go up and down and not link up again.

I can connect no problem with a direct cat 5e cable to the 4503 to a 2950 so I'm pretty sure the switches are configured ok - anyone have any experience with these netgears? I'm inquiring with netgear as well.

It's amazing what a good nights sleep can do when you have a problem that you can't solve. Came in this morning and turned off the auto neg for the gc102's on both sides and all is well.
