Connecting a 9216i toa 6509-E using Hybrid Mode OS.

I have connected a 9216i to the uplink port of the SUP 720 card in a 6509-E Cat Switch, and have configured that port for Vlan 2. But I cannot ping the 9216i. I have created a trunk port to a router for Vlan 1 and 2 using dot1q. Interface says connected.

Any help is appreciated.

can you post the relevant configurations of the 6509, the MDS, and the routing module ? Maybe something can be spotted...

Do a sh interface gi x/y switchport on the Sup 720 (assuming this is IOS based). this will tell you if the port is in trunking status or not.

are you able to ping on vlan 1 ? (native)?
