hi

I am having an ISDN leased line 64kbps for internet with cisco 1600 router.

my internal network has one 3600 router with ip address of 10.1.X.X and cisco 1600 router is connected to a proxy server with two network cards.

but i am unable to use the internet, can any one help

the internet isp address is 194.x.x.x (external nic)

and internal nic has 10.1.X.X address, what should i do to make 10.1.X.X network know about 194.x.x.x network. mask is 255.255.0.0 for internal network.

need help urgently.

There isn't alot of information here to make a guess with, but I'll give it a swag.

Try 10.2.x.x on the external interface of the proxy.

Enable PAT (NAT overload) on the 1600 router.

Set the default route (0.0.0.0) on the 3600 to the proxy's internal IP address. Set the Proxy's default gateway to the internal interface of the 1600 router.

Hi Mick

1600 router is not ours, is been supplied by ISP.

194.x.x.x and have given the routers interface address is 194.x.x.1

now this i have connected it to external interface on the proxy server ip address is 194.x.x.2 subnet

255.255.255.224 and added the dns servers address given by the ISP

and on the internal nic i have the ip address 10.1.x.x with default gateway of 3600 router

just want to know how to make 10.1.x.x network know about 194.x.x.x (internet) network, so the proxy just forwards the outgoing internet sessions to the external nic.

thanks again

The default gateway of the proxy should be the 1600 router's internal interface (194.x.x.1)

You could run RIP2 or OSPF between the 3600 and the proxy so that the proxy will have routes back into your network, or you could make all the routes static.

Mick.
