DDR Backup with MPPP and two routers at central site

Hi,

we plan to implement a ISDN-Backup solution.

The maximum bandwidth of the backup is 256K. So i need MPPP. On the central site we run two router in two data centers. Therefore we must be able to dial to one of the router . If the router in the first data center is not available, the remote router have to dial the router in the second data center.

I didn't find any hint in the docu how to solve this.

Thanks

Carsten

Carsten,

I guess your problem is that if your first channel is brought up to a router in one data centre, you don't want any channels brought up to the router in the second data centre when requesting more bandwidth. If you use just multiple dial strings you could call into more than one location.

I think you can use BACP so that the data centre router specifies to the caller the number that should be used for subsequent calls. Details are at:

Never tried it though.

cheers
