Hello, I've upgrade the IOS version on my 6509 but I couldn't delete the oldest version. I used clear, erase, commands but each time I did show flash command the oldest version was always there. There is a way to delete it and get free space on my flash?
thanks a lot
Regards

Hello,
try the command:
squeeze flash:
This will permanently remove previously deleted files from your flash system. The idea is that, unless you have squeezed your flash, a deleted file can still be recovered. After squeezing the flash, the file is removed and cannot be recovered.

Files that are deleted from flash are not really gone. You have to empty the trash can.
Try the "squeeze
For a 6509 running IOS, it would look something like:
Router# squeeze sup-bootflash:
All deleted files will be removed. Continue? [confirm]
Squeeze operation may take awhile. Continue? [confirm]
If you say yes, the file you deleted will be physically removed from flash.
