Designing Network for a Gaming/Internet Cafe

Hey everyone. We will be opening a gaming/internet cafe up during the summer. I have been speaking with one of the guys at bandwidth.com to get prices on T1's. I decided that we would probably go with the NxT1 that is 3Mbps up/down. He told me I have an option between Sprint and MCI to provide the line. He gave me prices on the monthly cost with and without the equipment. The monthly price with the equipment just seems outrageous so I plan on buying the equipment myself.

Could I get some suggestions on which equipment to get for the NxT1 that will work with our plan below? I would appreciate any help.

Here is my current plan for our network setup in the cafe:

A) Total of 40 computers networked

A.1) 30 computers will be gaming machines located in the same room line up (Win XP Pro) - static internal IPs

A.2) 5 computers will be productivity machines located in the same room as the gaming machines but at the back corner away from gaming machines (Win XP Pro) - static internal IPs

A.3) 2 computers will be the administrator machines located at the front desk (Win XP Pro) - static internal IPs

A.4) 3 computers will be servers located in the back room

A.4.1) 1 server that will be the file server and will house the server part of café software (Win Server 2003)

A.4.2) 2 servers that will host game servers, webcam, etc (Win XP Pro) – will need to have external IP so it can be accessible from outside

A.4.3) 1 server that will eventually come into the mix that will be the web server – will also need to have external IP

B) Entire LAN will be gigabit – all computers have gigabit cards

C) There will also be wireless internet – IPs assigned by DHCP

C.1) Would like to do a wireless hotspot solution where the equipment is capable of managing user accounts, payment options, keeping everyone from accessing each other, etc

D) Would also like to make sure we have a Firewall, VPN access, and DMZ zones to separate private/public

Suggestions/comments? Thanks in advanced.

Chris

Hi,

You can try for Cisco T1 DSU/CSU WAN Interface Card (WIC-1DSU-T1). Please check the following links for more information..
