DHCP

We are using DLSW to pass sna data to the mainframe. We add bridge-group 1 under the ethernet interface to support bridging. DHCP does not work unless you put bridge-group 1 ieee, Bridge-group 1 ip, and bridge-group 1 ipx in the configuration. I don't understand why bridging is necessary to allow dhcp to work. Anybody?

Are you having the router act as the DHCP server or trying to use the ip helper-address function?
