Hi,
I am using ciscoworks 2000 on w2k professinal with sp3. Well I am trying to import startup or running configurations from multiple devices. how do I do that.
question no 2.
does ciscoworks 2000 imports running/startup configurations automatically? even though it takes can't I import startup or running configurations?

What does RME-ConfigurationManagement-search Archive by device do?

When you add devices into Resource Manager Essentials, RME will try to download the initial startup/running configs

Yes, there is no way to manually get the information.
It's part of the Inventory process once you add the device using RME->Administartion->Inventory
Add devices or Import from File/from NMS
Please take a look at the below link:

Search Archive by Device lets you look at the different versions of configurations saved by
Resource Manager Essentials
So if you set up your CiscoWorks to save 10 configurations per device. CiscoWorks will keep
the last 10 configurations of every device that you
have entered into its Inventory.
You can look at the differences between configs
and the individual configurations as well.
