Domain Search List (or Suffix Order) extension in Network Registrar

Hi,

I am looking for a solution to send a Domain Search List (or Suffix Order) from Network Registrar DHCP to Microsoft Clients. I found the attribute in http://www.iana.org/assignments/bootp-dhcp-parameters :

119 Domain Search N DNS domain serach list [RFCABOB],

and I would like to know if somebody tried to add a custom option number 119 in CNR and succedeed in setting a Microsoft Client domain suffix order (from Win95 to Win2000).

Thanks in advance for your help !

Hi,

Currently there is no implementation on the client side to recognize option 119, so there is no use of pushing a domain search list to the client.

I'm afraid this is a client limitation :(

In CNR, you can configure the domain servers < in DHCP options> in the order that you want them to be used, and that's the only fine tunig you can do.
