ds3 media type

Hi, we're having a ds3 installed and the provider indicates that it will run on coax. The NM-1T3/E3 card also has bnc connectors. Is coax the typical media? I was expecting maybe fiber or even Cat5.

Thats the telco standard. Very typical. DS-1's term on 45's (DSX-1).

True enough, But it is robust as all get out, Sometimes old fasioned is actually the best way to go.
