DSCP rewrite on Catalyst 40006-Sup III

Hi,

I'd like to use the Catalyst 4006 to rewrite the DSCP value of packets. I don't need all the fancy queuing for now.

Right now, all QoS parameters are at default value so "QoS is disabled globally". Doing a "show qos", I've noticed that "IP header DSCP rewrite is enabled" by default.

Does that mean I could just create my class-maps, integrate it into a policy-map with the "set ip dscp ..." and apply my service-policy to an interface without having to do anything else in terms of QoS ?

The documentation is not too clear on this subject.
